City of Racine FD Wireless

CyberLynk has partnered with the City of Racine to connect six of Racine's Fire Stations together via CyberLynk's Broadband Wireless network.

The Fire Stations were once connected using DSL circuits, which were costly and slow. The company that was providing the DSL circuits soon went bankrupt like most DSL companies. CyberLynk was contacted by the City of Racine to provide a solution that would connect all the City of Racine Fire Houses together. CyberLynk equipped the Fire Houses with Broadband Wireless, which would provide the reliable high-speed connection over CyberLynk's Wireless Network.

CyberLynk installed six Fire Stations with the Broadband Wireless connection. This Broadband Wireless connection now allows the Fire Department to utilize their emergency dispatch system (Unix based) at each Fire House and has allowed them to migrate to a 100% paperless incident reporting system. In addition to this primary function the Fire Department maintains 3 separate database applications to support other records and maintenance needs. The Fire Departments are also able to surf the Internet, send email and share documents via a central file server.

Jim Madisen, Division Chief of the Racine Fire Department had this to say at a recent meeting with the City of Racine and Racine Fire Department:

"I have been completely satisfied with all of my dealings with the folks at CyberLynk! They are experts at what they do and most importantly very responsive with any of our support needs. They have in my estimation, made customer service a priority. Managing a fire department and answering nearly 9,000 calls for emergency services annually creates and requires an enormous amount of support information. All of our networking needs for remote locations have been adequately handled by the Broadband Wireless Internet connections installed and overseen by CyberLynk. Additionally and not to be underestimated, our service and responsibility are to the taxpayers. These Broadband Wireless connections produced a savings for our department after only fourteen months."
