Type in the following command depending on which operating system your computer has installed and click OK. Windows 95/98: command Windows NT/2000: cmd
NOTE: This example is using Windows 2000 as the operating system. Below is screen shot of a DOS prompt. This is where the trace route will be performed. the command for a trace route is tracert followed by an IP address. The IP address is denoted with X's below.
In the screenshot below, the results of a trace route can be seen. This is the information CyberLynk Tech Support will need to help troubleshoot your problem.
This information will need to be copied and pasted into an email to be sent to support@cyberlynk.net for analysis. To copy and paste this information into an email please follow these instructions. Click in the lower left hand corner near the C:\>, drag the cursor up to the upper right hand corner and release the mouse button. The DOS screen should now be white as shown below. Select Edit > Copy from the drop down menu. Open a new email message and select paste from the Edit menu, the trace route should be copied into the email message. Send the message to CyberLynk Tech Support using the email address as shown above.
